This legacy deeply rooted in the principles of justice, peace, dialogue, and the stewardship of creation, provides a unique framework for understanding how technology can be harmonized with our spiritual and ethical values.
Justice and Peace.
At the heart of our Franciscan spirituality, especially pertinent to the Franciscan Mediterranean Net Commission is a commitment to justice and peace. As we embrace AI technologies, it is imperative that we navigate their applications with a focus on equity and fairness. The use of AI should always be directed towards uplifting marginalized voices and addressing systemic injustices, contributing to a more harmonious society.
We must advocate for algorithms that are transparent and free from biases to ensure they serve the common good.
Promoting Dialogue
Dialogue is pivotal in the Franciscan tradition, encouraging open communication and the sharing of perspectives. AI can facilitate dialogue by providing platforms for diverse voices to be heard.
